Mulligan Stew Chicago

Mulligan Stew has been a fixture in the Irish/Celtic Music Scene in Chicago since 1978. They got their start playing in several nostalgic locations such as Durty Dicks, Kilkenny Castle Inn, Glenshesk Public House, O’Sullivans, Callahans, Irish Mill Inn & Irish Eyes. Mark Holihan is the founding member of Mulligan Stew on guitar and vocals. The band started as an offshoot for him and his friend’s Rich Trumbo & Bob Stern while playing folk music together in the mid-seventies.
This weekend marks the 46th consecutive year Mulligan Stew has performed at Andy’s Jazz Club for the masses of parade goers and pub crawlers on this most gloriously green day here in Chicago. A tradition that goes back to when the parade traveled state street, and marchers would stage on Hubbard Street while waiting to meet the masses. This year marks the 1st year that ‘The Stew’ will be featuring a 5th member to the stage enhancing their repertoire to hit us with more traditional Celtic tunes throughout all sets.
Their song selections come from Traditional Irish Music, Irish Drinking Songs, Folk, Rock, Bluegrass & Country Music. This year marks the 1st year that ‘The Stew’ will be featuring a 5th member to the stage enhancing their repertoire to hit us with additional traditional Celtic tunes throughout all sets.
