Late Night Concert Series w/Sofia Koulouvaris

Sofia Koulouvaris is an up-and-coming saxophone artist based in Chicago. Her music continues a strong Chicago jazz tradition deeply rooted in bebop, swing, and the blues. From legendary greats Eddie Harris & Gene Ammons to modern masters, Chicago’s musicians have been an undeniable influence on her sound and style.
Her talent and hard work led to performance opportunities at legendary Chicago music venues like The Jazz Showcase & Fitzgerald’s while she was still just in high school. After completing a dual major at DePaul University under master saxophonist Scott Burns, she has seen her career take shape. She has had performances with Soul Message, the Birch Creek Faculty Big Band and DC & The Love.
She currently leads her own group featuring George Fludas, Dennis Carroll & Joey Skoch. This quartet made their debut this past summer with a night at the Jazz Showcase.
