Miriam Goroff-Behel is an up-and-coming saxophonist, composer and improviser whose work centers on emotional honesty, presence and deep listening. Originally from Wilmette, IL Miriam began playing saxophone at age 14, quickly falling in love with the instrument through the music of Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Kenny Garrett. They currently reside in NYC pursuing a bachelor’s degree in jazz saxophone at the Julliard School.
Miriams’s artistry has led them to perform at renowned venues and festivals including: The Jazz Gallery, the Monterey Jazz Festival, Blue Note, Carnegie Hall, Dizzy’s Club, The Market Theatre in South Africa and St. John the Divine. They have also shared the stage with such artists as Sean Jones, Dana Hall, Alicia Olatuja, Isaiah Spencer, Sharel Cassity and more.
