A 2025 City of Chicago Individual Artist Program awardee, Brian Citro has been playing & writing music for 35 years. His new album, ‘Keep Moving (Home)’ on Calligram Records as noted by Fareed Haque features his “lyrical yet modern guitar playing” on 14 original compositions. Paris Move praised the album saying, “there is something undeniably human in the music: a warmth, a sense of intimacy…”.
Jazz pianist & organist Tom Vaitsas is a first-call veteran of the Chicago music scene will be on the keys. A former sideman for legendary saxophonist Von Freeman, he has toured worldwide with blues legends Lurie & Carrie Bell and performed with: Dee Dee Bridgewater, Fareed Haque and many others. Drummer Peter Mack rounds out the trio with deep experience performing and leading his own Chicago Jamaican Jazz Ensemble.
The group performs Brian’s compositions as well as music by Pat Metheny, Frank Ocean, Todd Rundgren, Carole King & more.
