Pops Magellan is a Brazilian bassist, producer, and composer based in Los Angeles, a new voice in contemporary bass. Her music is bass and groove-driven modern funk, shaped by punk edge, jazz improvisation, electronic energy, and subtle Brazilian influence. Her debut solo EP, DAMAGE, was recognized by Bass Magazine as one of the most exciting releases of 2025.
In 2026, she performed at the Bass Magazine Awards, part of a lineup of leading figures from both legacy and contemporary bass, cementing her role as a new voice at the forefront of the future of bass.
As a touring and session musician, she has worked with Willow, Adam Lambert, Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, Cimafunk, and Artur Menezes, on stages from Wembley Stadium and the Royal Albert Hall to the Late Late Show with James Corden. In Brazil, she was the resident bassist for Adnight on Rede Globo, performing alongside major national artists.
Pops delivers high-energy live shows driven by bass and groove. Sets feature original material from DAMAGE and unique reinterpretations of funk and grunge classics. Arrangements are tight but allow room for improvisation, blending groove, texture, and psychedelic flair.
