1st Set With Swindler-Markley Quartet

Saxophonist Wil Swindler and pianist Ben Markley, both based in Denver, CO, approach straight-ahead Jazz with a boundless love for the history of the music and a keen set of ears on the contemporary aesthetic of life and art in the 21st century. On May 31st and June 1st, 2024, they will bring their original music and personal sensibility for established Jazz material to Andy's Jazz Club. Joined by Chicago greats Clark Sommers (bass) and Kyle Swan (drums), these sets promise to be an engaging, and definitely swinging affair.

Swindler and Markley have performed together for 15 years in a variety of settings including Wil Swindler’s Elevenet, the Ben Markley Big Band, and Denver-based GoodRattle. Both musicians have received recent 4-star reviews in Downbeat Magazine and have performed with many Jazz greats across their careers including Ari Hoenig, Joel Frahm, Rodney Whitaker, Eddie Gomez, Terrell Stafford, John Daversa, Jon Gordon, and Paul McKee just to name a few.
