Trumpeter Constantine Alexander is a Chicago native, son of Greek immigrants. Went to Lincoln Park High School, Bachelors of Music from Roosevelt University, Masters in Music and Jazz Studies from DePaul University. This gifted young trumpeter has performed with numerous jazz VIP’s including Ron Carter, Ernie Watts, Randy Brecker, Brian Lynch, Terell Stafford, Dennis Mackrel, and Paquito D’Rivera. Recent projects include collaborations with Snarky Puppy drummer, Robert “Sput” Searight II, and Cuban pianist, Chuchito Valdés. A graduate of Roosevelt University with a degree in trumpet performance, Constantine has a masters in jazz performance from DePaul university. Constantine is in many groups around the city of Chicago which include Roy McGrath's Menjunje and Marques Carroll’s Trumpet Summit. Currently, Constantine is the jazz trumpet professor at Roosevelt university and the leader of the Large Jazz Ensemble. 2018 city-wide Luminarts Jazz Competition winner and Fellow. Current trumpet player for the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Fire’tet is a quintet that consist of renowned Chicago musicians: Roy McGrath (Tenor Sax), Julius Tucker (Piano), Ben Dillinger (Bass), Greg Essig (Drums), and Constantine Alexander on Trumpet and Flugelhorn. The original music is similar to hard bop and contemporary jazz, influenced by Art Blakey, Sean Jones and Nicholas Payton.”
