Bonzo Squad is a Chicago-based instrumental band known for its explosive blend of jazz, funk, rock, and electronic music. With high-energy, improvisation-driven performances, the group brings a genre-bending approach that appeals to both jazz heads and groove seekers alike. Formed in 2014 as the house band for a weekly jam session, Bonzo Squad features saxophonist Corbin “Bonzo” Andrick, keyboardist Andrew Lawrence, bassist Andrew Vogt, and drummer Zack Marks. Together, they create dynamic, deeply textured music rooted in jazz but unafraid to explore the outer edges of sound.

Their discography includes three studio albums—Bonzo Squad, There’s Always Tomorrow, and Pachyderm—plus a live record, Live at aliveOne. Their song “Lemons” was featured on Spotify’s State of Jazz playlist, and the band has received praise from DownBeat Magazine and the Chicago Reader. With a long-running residency at aliveOne and standout sets at the Chicago Jazz Fest, Bonzo Squad has earned a reputation as one of the city’s most exciting and consistent live acts. Whether reimagining Stevie Wonder or pushing their original material into uncharted territory, they never fail to deliver a powerful and engaging show.
