Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Kevin Nabors Jr. is an internationally recognized saxophonist, composer, producer, educator, and bandleader whose artistry is rooted in the rich legacy of Chicago jazz while embracing a global musical perspective. Known for his soulful sound, expressive improvisation, and commanding stage presence, Nabors has established himself as a versatile artist whose performances bridge tradition and innovation.
Equally at home on the concert stage, in the theater, or in the recording studio, Nabors has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Africa. Throughout his career, Nabors has shared the stage with an extraordinary roster of artists including Robert “Babby” Irving III, Wynton Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Jason Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Common, Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper, Erykah Badu, Fred Anderson, Kahil El’Zabar, Clark Terry, Bill Summers, George Freeman, Ernest Dawkins, Ari Brown, Maurice Brown, Nona Hendryx, Georgia Cecile, Chico DeBarge, KRS-One, Corey Wilkes, Winard Harper, Guy King, and Isaiah Spencer.
His recordings include Hello Beautiful with the Kevin Nabors Quartet, with his forthcoming album, FRED, set for release soon. Through every performance and recording, Kevin Nabors Jr. continues to honor the masters who shaped him while contributing his own distinctive voice to the ever-evolving story of jazz.
