Showtimes: 10:30pm-11:45pm
Kyle Brooks is a Chicago-based saxophonist, composer, and educator whose work reflects a deep commitment to community, education, and creative excellence. Critic Greg Drygala describes his music as “…a musical journey…thoughtful, exciting, and forward-thinking” (G-Point Audio). A native of the Chicago suburbs, Brooks’ creative voice draws from a wide range of musical experiences, including jazz, Motown, soul, fusion, and South Asian styles. His performance credits include appearances with the Toledo Jazz Orchestra, Butter Chicken Brass Band, Shayna Steele, and the Evansville Philharmonic, among others.
He is currently on faculty at Triton College, where he teaches saxophone, music theory, music appreciation, and directs the jazz ensemble. In addition to this position, Brooks has presented clinics at institutions including Quinnipiac University, Eastman School of Music, and DePaul University.
His performance at Andy’s Jazz Club will feature music from his debut album Monarch, a collection of original compositions that blend modern jazz language with groove-based and cross-genre influences.
