DESCRIPTION:Showtimes:  10:30pm-11:45pm\n\nQuentin Coaxum showed an affinity for music at a very young age. Upon taking up the trumpet in elementary school, he took a liking to the tapes and records left behind by his grandfather. It was these same recordings that inspired him to take an interest in jazz that would later blossom into a passion for all music. Originally growing up just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, Coaxum currently resides in Chicago, IL, where he is an active musician and has emerged as one of Chicagoʼs brightest emerging young trumpeters.\nAs a performer, he has garnered praise for his ability to compose and perform with modern lyricism while also displaying a knowledge of jazzʼs rich tradition. His musical voice reaches across genres in a way that captivates listeners and fellow musicians alike, and has afforded him the opportunity to perform with many world class musicians.\nDuring his time in Chicago, Coaxum has been a featured performer at The Chicago Jazz Festival, The Hyde Park Jazz Festival, and the University of Chicago’s Logan Arts Jazz Series.\nCoaxum’s first album as a leader, “Current”, was released on the Skiptone Music Label in 2014, and his most recent project, “You & I” was released in September of 2020.\nDuring this weekend at Andy’s, Coaxum will be debuting music from his newest project, “Satellite”, while also recalling some of the material from “Current” and “You & I”.\nClick Here For All Reservations\n\n\n
