DESCRIPTION:Showtimes:  10:30pm-11:45pm\n\n\nChris Madsen’s most latest release is the album “The Trio Book”!  The record features two of the finest musicians in the world: bassist Clark Sommers and drummer Dana Hall, both of which will be regularly appearing during this run at Andy’s.  The seven songs chosen for this recent recording are by some of Madsen’s favorite composers: Freddie Hubbard, Joe Chambers, Chris Cheek, Wes Montgomery, and others including an original work by the trio.\n\nJazz saxophonist Christopher Madsen is one of the most in-demand figures in the Chicago jazz world as a performer, composer, and pedagogue.  A former faculty member at Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Midwest Young Artists, he currently coordinates the jazz program at Loyola University Chicago. He is a sought-after jazz clinician, adjudicating at jazz festivals and offering workshops to ensembles of all ages and levels from across the globe. He is a Vandoren and Conn-Selmer Performing Artist, member of the Fulbright Specialist Program roster, Jazz Education Network, the National Educator’s Association, and the National Association for Music Education.\n\n\nAfter graduating from DePaul University in Chicago with a B.M. in Jazz Studies and studying with the likes of Mark Colby, Bobby Broom, and Dr. Bob Lark, Madsen was accepted into the jazz program at the Juilliard School.  He spent three years in New York City, performing with and writing for such jazz masters as Wynton Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, Kenny Washington, Bobby Short, Michael Dease, Jon Irabagon, Lage Lund, Ulysses Owens Jr., Aaron Diehl, Makaya McCraven, and many others before relocated to Chicago where he has since been a fixture on the local scene\nClick Here For All Reservations\n\n\n
