  Chicago native, Mike Smith first became enthralled with jazz at a young age that lead to winning a coveted Charlie Parker Scholarship to North Texas culminating in a bachelors in Jazz Performance. Speaking of performances, Mike has performed and recorded with over a hundred jazz greats, including Nat Adderley, Clark Terry, Art Farmer, Tony Bennett, Jimmy Heath, Natalie Cole, Linda Ronstadt, Diane Schuur, Gloria Morgan, Kurt Elling, Nancy Wilson, Frank Sinatra and Frank Sinatra Jr.  He is featured as lead altoist on the Harry Connick, Jr. album Come By Me on CBS Columbia.

After spending time with the bands of Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich, Mike joined Frank Sinatra’s core band as lead altoist and music contractor. Jordan Baskin is a jazz pianist and piano teacher from Skokie IL.  He received his bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from Indiana University studying under world-renown jazz educator David Baker. He has been playing in Mike Smith’s band for over 12 years and is Mike’s musical director.  Jordan has been a mainstay at Andy’s Jazz Club and has been a fixture in Chicago’s vibrant jazz community for nearly twenty years.  A few of his career highlights include performances at the Kennedy Center, Ravinia, Grant Park, Chicago Jazz Fest, Symphony Center, and attendance to the Banff International Jazz Workshop. His piano trio album High Card was released in 2012 and he has been recorded on multiple other recordings, in the United States and abroad.
